This week’s hike (22 November 2025, 0830 - 1130 AM) features Ms Su-Yen Wong.
The topic of her talk, “Beyond Either/Or – Paradox Mastery to Thrive in Work and Life,” will explore how individuals and organisations can navigate complexity, build adaptive capacity, and make decisions that support long-term effectiveness.
Ms Su-Yen Wong is the Chairperson of James Cook University Singapore and serves on the boards of IMDA, Yoma Strategic Holdings, NTUC First Campus, and Mediacorp. She previously led the Human Capital Leadership Institute and held senior roles at Marsh & McLennan Companies, the Singapore Institute of Directors, Mercer, and Oliver Wyman. She will share perspectives on leading with clarity and navigating complex organisational challenges.
SMC Youth Hiking Library (SYHL) is a twice-monthly hiking event where participants build connections while exploring Singapore’s green spaces. During each hike, one C-Suite speaker is invited to share insights on their field and career journey, followed by a Q&A. Participants hike in pairs, rotating partners throughout the event to foster meaningful exchanges with peers and mentors.
Open to all SMU students.
